Introduction:
At the tail end of 2017, and for most of the month of January, 2018, I was hospitalized in a mental health ward of a large hospital in a large city in the United States. I was held against my will and given medication that essentially made me increasingly agitated, disoriented, and panicky, and I almost lost everything that I am and everything that I know about myself, including my own life, twice.
A friendly warning to those who have their own mental health issues – some of what I write might be triggering in many different ways (it certainly is for me), and I warn you to please use your own discretion when reading.
